Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, has announced that Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, will be available in the Nigerian market within 48 hours, pending final arrangements with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

During an interview with Channels Television, Dangote revealed that the petrol rollout from his company’s Lagos-based refinery, which has a production capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is imminent. The refinery, a significant $20 billion investment, is nearing completion of negotiations with NNPCL to ensure the product reaches consumers swiftly.

On the matter of petrol pricing, Dangote indicated that the Federal Executive Council, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will finalize the pricing structure. He emphasized that once these arrangements are concluded, the petrol could be available in filling stations within the specified timeframe.

This announcement comes as a relief to many Nigerians, who have been grappling with fuel shortages and high prices. The new supply is expected to ease the current scarcity and provide some stability to the market.
